Thanks to a great group of hard-working volunteers, we have all the plots prepared for our Gardening Education Program, which begins this weekend! We spent Sunday testing out our “new” tiller (it works great!), measuring out & then dumping compost on the 12×12 plots to be gardened by participants in the season-long course in organic veggie gardening.

At the end of the day, we had 14 plots prepared for the class participants, ready for them to dig & spread their compost!
Our beds of spring crops also got some major weeding done so you can actually see the radishes, carrots, peas, and lettuces growing happily — no longer crowded out by Johnson grass!Weeding the rows of carrots and radishes, our 1st crops of the season!

Our lettuces looked great when we pulled back their row-covers…And even better after they were weeded!

Thanks again to the volunteers for all their hard work!
