As an allergy sufferer, taking medication to prevent symptoms from flaring up is a part of my daily routine, but understanding that there are options outside of anti-histamines and decongestants is a game-changer! Below are five of the best herbs to combat allergy symptoms:

BUTTERBUR

Blocks some of the chemicals that trigger swelling in the nasal passageways, without causing drowsiness

QUERCETIN

Works as a mast cell stabilizer, helping block the release of histamine causing inflammation

STINGING NETTLE

Contains carotene, vitamin K and quercetin, and helps reduce allergy symptoms when used after the first sign of allergies. [Note] use the extracts from the leaf, the root is used to treat prostate troubles

BROMELAIN

Used to reduce nasal swelling and for thinning mucus

PARSLEY

Inhibits the secretion of allergy-inducing histamine
